Who we are

Bargate Drinks started trading in 2014, with Hein Barnard purchasing high volume alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Examples of these products are: wine, beer, cider, spirits and energy drinks. The business both buys and sells stock directly to clients, as well as facilitating deals whereby commission is earned from other larger trading companies. South African Sunshine has been trading with year on year increasing profit for the past four years.

Hein Barnard was born in South Africa in 1978 and is educated to degree level, completing his degree in Marketing Management from Stellenbosch University. Throughout his formative years, he worked in and managed Bars and Restaurants, developing a knowledge of the trade from a young age. In 2002, he decided to travel to the UK. He managed several pubs and bars in the South of England and settled here after meeting his British wife.

In 2006, Hein decided to capitalise on his knowledge of the drinks industry and his contacts abroad, to start a company buying and selling drinks. Hence the incorporation of South African Sunshine Ltd, trading as BarGate Drinks
